2026 marks the beginning of my research degree at the University of the Sunshine Coast. I am drawn to the mind–body connection and to somatic based therapeutic approaches that invite listening to the body with care and curiosity. My focus is on medically unexplained pain, and on the ways unresolved emotional trauma and prolonged stress can be held within the body and expressed as physical pain or persistent bodily sensations. This research is both an academic inquiry and an embodied commitment to honouring the wisdom held in the body; the body is an active carrier of meaning, not a passive biological object.

Inner Wisdom Therapy (IWT) is an embodied, brief, trauma-informed therapy developed by Hugo Bonham. This research is grounded in Bonham's IWT, with a focus on exploring and deepening the understanding of the healing mechanisms that emerge through this therapeutic approach.
